yes you would still gain in hp numbers. would be pointless. but you would still gain both from the port and polish and also from the bump in compression received when mating non vtec blocks with vtec heads. it wont hurt you to run without the vtec, but like i said its pointless. if anything, do the swap, and just wire up the vtec at a later time if you have to, or even better, get a p28 ecu and have a harness made to adapt to your particular car.

You could always lock the rocker arms to run on the larger lobes only as well.

its all about what numbers you push simultaneaously, if you press the # and 4 together, youll get about 976mghz, on the other hand if you press * and # together, youll lose power and only put out about 458mghz........
