And were what..? Hooked up to the solenoid and were... missing? And were....wrong? What are you trying to say...?

There should be two wires on the solenoid, one goes to the ECU, the other goes to ground. There should also be one wire on the VTEC pressure switch that goes to the ECU. If you need the ECU pinout, Google "OBD1 ECU pinout" and that will tell you where to find the wires. You can use any multimeter or ohmmeter to check the wire continuity.

So you can't feel or hear VTEC engage? It's not going to be very dramatic, because you're going from not very much power to only slightly more power. So a change in sound is the big key.

Seriously, take the extra few seconds and read what you're writing before you post it. If no one can understand what you're typing, no one is going to be able to help you. I refuse to believe that whatever you're doing is so important that you can't take a tiny bit of extra time to type legibly.

my (stock d16y8) vtec sounds like if you were making motor revving sounds with your mouth, and as you gain mouth sound rpms you hold your nose and really fucking blast it!

It's a sohc, vtec is about as quiet as a mouse fart. Unless you're throwing a cel for vtec then it probably is working.
