Default VTEC engaged at 4.4k rpm

I wonder if my grs has been chipped? at what rpm usually vtec kick in?

GSR's start to engage VTEC at 4400rpm.

Yes more than likely your ecu has a chipped ecu which isn't always good. You should find out what timing the ecu is running, what kind of fuel curve and power band,

T-I.net is an awesome place for information, but the rest of their forum sucks IMO. I only go there for technical reasons. Some of the people who post on there have amazing knowledge of Integras.

B18C1 GS-R has that dual stage VTEC (No Bullshit) First one kicks in at 4500, then 6000rpm.

Technically, the intake manifold is dual stage, because the high lift cams stay the same from the initial VTEC engagement all the way to redline. The only thing that changes is the IM. Your numbers are a little off too, 4.4k and 5.8k. But you've got the idea.

If you switch out the IM for a single stage one, you'll get an engagement like a B16 or B18C5. It'll engage earlier than those though.
