vss on ys1
 
i was just wondering where is the vss on a ys1 tranny located and what does it look like?

look down from the front of the engine directly behind the starter. it'll stick up out of the tranny about 2 inches and have a hole about the diameter of a pencil that the speedo cable goes into.

he is talking about a vss....cable trannies dont have vss...a cable runs the speedometer

so how do i fix the "speedometer not working" problem

Look to make sure the retaining clip that goes through the cable where it enters the transmission is still there. Came out on mine before causing the speedometer to stop working.
