Default Voltswagon people

I've become interested in like 90ish (older models) Voltswagon jettas, the 4door hatches and the sedan ones. But im really ignorate to them to be honest. How easy are they to work on and roughly how much would it cost to buy a stock one? Hows the performance market out there for them? What are possible swaps and arnt the FWD? Any information would be great. Thanks!

vwvortex.com

They arn't overly complicated to work on. Price depends, alot of different factors... MK3/MK4 Jetta/GTI's are all FWD. As far as engines.. 1.8t/2.0/VR6 are the main options.

vr6 is not turbo and are 6cyl's that have a layout like a 4cyl but not in a line, sorta like this.

000
000 = Vr6

difficult to work on.
