Re: upholstery
i'd rather not say. i can say that the gentleman was very nice and seemed pretty easy going. wouldn't worry about doing business there, it's just the cost that raised a brow. i figure $60 an hour for automobile related work. $300 tells me he'd be spending 5 hours working on these seats, and i don't see how. i'm even pulling the seats out of the car and dropping them off.
maybe i'm just a low-baller and the price is fair. i don't know. i'm just trying to see if anyone else has experience.

Re: upholstery
well if he is making you new covers there is a lot of time into that. cutting them into templates and tracing them to new fabric. then sewing it all together and sometimes extra filler is needed.

Re: upholstery
ya, that's what i'm doing. the material i found is called black avus, and from what i've seen is only available through recaro. i haven't called anyone, but from what i've seen can be had for $38 a yard. for a reference, they told me i'd need 4 yards to do the back seat. he had some samples there that were close, but not the same as i imagined. the stuff i'm talking about is black with kind of a glossy waffle-weave pattern.
