turbo wastegate
whats up guys
i'm having a lil trouble with the installation of my wastegate, i have one of those xs power 38mm wastegate (yes i know its a piece of crap and i've heard all the bad stuff about it) anyways.. i just want to know where the vacum lines go, cuz it has one on the top and on the side and another thing, what side of it goes bolted onto the manifold?
thanks for the help in advance

Re: turbo wastegate
The bottom one goes to either a nipple on the turbo housing or to manifold. AND if your using a MBC it runs to the MBC, from the MBC to intake manifold. You use the top nipple on the wastegate as a second boost reference for electronic boost controllers. And good luck with that XSPower wastegate. I have seen one stick closed and pop a motor.

Re: turbo wastegate
thanx,
unfortunately i'm not having anytype of luck with the wastegate, i ordered a Tial yesterday... when i boosted the car before w/the stock engine i had a IHI turbo with internal actuator and never had that problem...
there is barely any air spittin from the BOV and the car gets no boost...
i hope this new Tial does the job.

Re: turbo wastegate
I usually check operation of my wastegate using an air compressor before I install it. I've found a couple of problems that would have been quite annoying otherwise... Usually they work though.. Worst problem I ever had was my fault(forgot to connect the reference back up) 31psi for a full 4th gear pull on pump gas.. Luckily my tune is good...

Re: turbo wastegate
i connected a vacum line to it before anything and it seem to work good...but when i have it mounted on the car and it closes it still dosent work good...
i dont get it really... i've never had that problem before, but then again i never used a external wastegate before....
i still have to install my MSD BTM and the MSD Ignition i'm gonna have to get it tunned somewhere, the only speed shop i know here in VA is Millenium, before i do that i want to re-do my whole exhaust so i wanted to ask ya if ya knew anywhere that would do a straight pipin from downpipe back and other recommendations for tunning here in VA
thanx
