From what I understand...Even turbos need back pressure. But I don't think that's the root of you problem. When was it tuned and how? Also, check for any leaks (a long shot but always my first step with boost problems)

TurboQuad4 is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Re: turbo spike

Is it spiking on initial boost and then coming down, or creeping towards the top end? Try just hooking your boost controller inline with the bottom wastegate port and taking the top one off. Is that a knock-off Tial wastegate (looks like one) or a real Tial? What psi spring is in it? If it's a knock-off, it might be sticking or diaphragm could be torn due to poor manufacturing.
Also, has it always done this since you've had the turbo on? It could be poor wastegate placement on the manifold as well.

Replace that wastegate with a hypergate and u will have no more problems , and a good tune. There's ur answer. By the way never go cheap on manifold wastegate and turbo

As stated before it's probably the wastegate and the turbo manifold is an ebay special. I've seen these kits do fine before, so it's probably the wastegate.
