Default Tuning B18B1 Turbo

anybody have any cost estimates on tuning a turbocharged b18b1

planning on buying a rev hard stage 2 kit within the next 3 weeks and i'm trying to see where i can tune it and how much it will roughly cost

the turbo is a t3/t4 with a 7 psi wastegate and there will be a replacement high volume fuel pump and fuel regulator, however, stock injectors will be used. this will be running on stock internals.

how much is a rough estimate for tuning?

also, can an ecu hack tune it, and will it be reliable?

some people that I know up this way and in NOVA use like Authority or I think Inline pro has a Dyno for tuning as well...I eman on a dyno is going to be the best place to tune the ride and get the best perfrormance out of it..

as long as you have at least a fuel controller youll be able to tune it(afc at least), abacus charges 160 dollars an hour= 100 bucks for dyno use, and 60 bucks for labor rate of the tuner and it usually only takes that long to do it, ive been driving on my b18b on 13 psi for a while now, the tuning is reliable, but turboed hondas arent, haha,you will have problems every once in a while but overall its worth it.......

how did you have yours tuned? stock ecu w/ afc?

yes, stock ecu, afc, 310 injectors with an inline fuel pump is my fuel setup controlled by the afc........car made 261hp , 228ft lbs on 13 psi at 5600 rpm, on 93 pump gas, this is what i drive everyday, well , i turned the boost down to 11..........

Fuel is just as important, if not more that the turbo kit itself. I recommend looking into your possible fuel options. Either way I recommend bigger injectors. 440's

I am a fan of hondata. It is extremely simple and being in NOVA you have many resources if you need help with the hondata. Also if money is tight you can ride around on the base map for a extended period of time and not worry about blowing up your car. You can find more info at www.hondata.com

There are other systems such as the AEM or speedpro, but Hondata is the simplest and cheapist.

If you have your heart set on a SAFC go to inlinepro and talk with the guys there.

Based on what I have seen so far, I am also a fan of Hondata.

I'm a big fan of several standalone engine management systems, but most are beyond the scope of what you are looking to do at low boost levels on stock injectors.
