Trying to make my 1998 honda civic ex faster
Ive had my car for about 2 months now and im trying to get ideas of what I want to do to it this summer. Its an automatic so im probaly going to do a swap but I dont know what to do so I ckuld use suggestions also im not tryimg to go over 2500. Ive also heard of a shift kit that would allow me to keep an auto trans but have the speed of a manual so I would like to know a little more about that

I will say this just get ready since you just opened a can of worms on vadriven boards with a thread like this.
But here is some advise for you and your car. If you have a budget def do your Research just like Dough_Boy said. The best thing to do is try and find friends that know something about cars and have them help you with install on anything you buy so you can save money instead of paying a shop to install them. Hit the forsale section and see if you can find a DOHC motor but with your budget youll be barely getting enough to pick up a swap and all the key other parts youll need. I would say the best thing is look at every option and then once you figure it out start saving. I mean you could always put a K-swap in the car but def isnt cheap but swapping a motor never is.

This is perhaps the best way to piss away $2500 and get zero return on investment. OP, save the $2500, save more, buy a faster car. That is the best mod you can make.
