the car works fine when cold. after warm up it wont go into gears and start to whine. if i detach the battery cable and reattach it it will work fine for a little while and it will start the same thing over. due to detaching the battery and it shifting just fine and a strong engine makes me think its some type of sensor or something. any help? and there is a whining noise but i can place where its coming from could be from torque converter. any ideas would be great it is a gs300 94

I'm guessing auto trans? Probably the computer for the transmission if unplugginf the battery fixes it for a bit.

yes it is an auto trans. im going to check all hoses and wiring today. but god this is annoying.
