Default Tach problem

The needle on my tach was stuck behind the stopping point when I first got it.. just recently I took out the cluster and spun it back around, took it out for a ride to make sure it was ok and the second I went to about 3.5k rpm's it spun all the way back around and got stuck...

Any suggestions on fixing this?

Yea, it took a while to get the lightswitch knob off and about 30 minutes total to get the rest off.. luckily I left all the screws out of it.

One last bump.. When it starts getting to what I would think is around 4k rpm's it starts spinning back to the 6k mark then drops down.

Im puzzled.
