Default Synthetic oil

I'm due for a change, of oil, and was weighing my options. Over the three years of owning my car I've done maybe 10k miles a year. I've read up on some synthetic oils and they can last that long if not at least half of it. Would it be better to switch to a synthetic oil over the real thing? Also it's clearly not a race car and the max driving distance is maybe under 100 miles, nothing grueling or devastating.

Organic oil is easily good for 5000 miles. Ford's OCI for new cars on organic oil is 7000 miles. Synthetic can go 3x that. Plus synthetic does everything better.

If you use a high quality organic and change it every 5k the motor will easily live a long healthy life. Personally I run Mobil 1 extended performance in my truck and change it every 10k.

In my car I use Amsoil of M1 and change it when the OLM tells me to, or once a year... which ever comes first.

I switched to Rotella T based on some praise on our forums, as well as some oil testing I've seen. 19 bucks a gallon for 0w-40...not bad. Always use synthetic in the miata.. the jeep can bite my ass and eat the cheap organic stuff.

Won't switching from conventional to synthetic on a high mileage car produce leaks were the previous oil had built up seals?

Probably not worded correctly, but you get the idea.
