My 08 Si makes a knocking/banging noise when i turn. Depending on the degree of turn, speed, etc It will make multiple bangs or knocks. I can actually feel it slightly when it hits. Something has to be touching that shouldn't. My dealership, as well as two independent shops were not able to find the cause.

Steering rack bushing, ball joint, wheel bearing, there are lots of things it could be. I'm not sure what we could diagnose over the internet that 3 different shops couldn't find.

is the car slammed??

if so they are more than likely checking the car on a lift with the suspension hanging...so nothing will remotely be touching...

if in hampton bring it on by..

Very good point, and thats what i was thinking. I doubt anyone here could pinpoint it over the internet when people hands on couldnt located it.


and to complicated it, its the result of an accident. I had the whole wheel assembly, bushings, bearings, control arms replaced i feel like it would be like the cv joint or something, just in the way it clicks and knocks as i turn it, but thats a very very uneducated guess.


In any case, I probably cant afford to fix it right now, It just hurts my soul every time I hear it and i figured atleast researching or poll-ing around couldn't hurt.
