sr20

how can u tell an sr20 motor from a different nissan motor. and if so how much would someone pay for a sr20

It will have sr20 stamped on the block on a flat spot where the tranny mates up to the engine. Kinda in the middle of the engine compartment near the radiator. In a Nissan the engine is on the left and the tranny is on the right when you stand at the front of the car looking at the engine. Honestly its a very distinctive looking engine. The only thing that really changes is the intake manifold between 91-2000. A normal price for a jdm engine is about $500.

Don't forget the RWD version will not fit a FWD car and vice versa. They both will have sr20 stamped on the block in the same place. Here is a pic of my old DE.

Here is a pic of my VE. You can see the sr20 stamped on the block and also the Distributor is missing. On a RWD Sr20 the Distributor will be on the front of the engine by the timing chain.
