Squeaking from the Driveshaft?
My truck has had this slight squeak while rolling at low speed for a while. Recently it has gotten worse though. It sounds like two pieces of metal squeaking/scraping together (it's really high-pitched), and then when I coast at speeds above 30 it makes a sort of metal flexing sound. I have not noticed any change in the performance, but I have a feeling this is going to just get worse if it's not fixed. My girlfriend's dad and I tried to figure out what it could be and he came up with a possible bad driveshaft bearing. Does anyone know if the symptoms match the possible cause?
Thanks,
Eric

Yeah that was another idea he had. How does that work though like how would that be the cause of the squeaking? I know what it is but I'm trying to picture what it would be scraping or rubbing against to make the noise.

Usually U-Joints get vibration when they are going bad. I don't know if they ever sqeak when going bad but it would be something I look at.

Re: Squeaking from the Driveshaft?
Did a search for the u-joint and having the same issues and I got a lot of matches for exactly this problem. Thanks a lot for your help.
