05 lancer ralliart...

Tools/Items required:
Open ended wrenches and some sockets to loosen strut bolts
Allen keys to carefully remove the top hat nut
Spring compressor
Jack
Jack stands
Tire Iron
Springs
Food/Water
PB blaster/WD-40
Rags
Time

step 1: locate a clear, and clean flat surface
step 2: loosen lug nuts
step 3a: raise front on jacks and put bricks behind rear tires
step 3b: support on jack stands (nothing more lame than having a car fall on you)
step 4: unbolt lower fork from hub assembly
step 5: loosen up bolts holding on each side of strut bar
step 6: remove strut tower brace (red thing), and set aside, along with all bolts
step 7: remove lower nut and bolt, may require hammer and large screw-driver to tap the bolt out.
step 8: use spring compressor to put pressure on both sides of spring once assembly is pulled from vehicle; remember to work consistently and slowly, as this is the step when most people screw it up.
step 9: remove top nut, two rubber washer things, spacer, the compressed spring and top hat (remember to put the pieces together the way you pulled them off)
step 10: slowly, and consistently let out pressure on the removed spring
step 11: place lowering spring into compressor, and crush it down a bit
step 12: replace piece over shock, and then the lower damper, top hat, upper damper, sleeve and top hat nut
step: 13: re-bolt to car. repeat for all four corners on car.
*note: the rear may be slightly different depending on vehicle, but you should just have to remove shock from the rear lca (lower control arm). Also, the rear will require you to remove the carpet in the trunk, or a panel, or to peel back the carpet a bit. These instructions are general application, and each vehicle differs. Therefore, research installation of new struts or springs on an 05 lancer ralliart. Then, if the job seems too complex or seems as though you might mess up, call someone, mainly someone who has altered many suspensions and knows exactly what they are doing.
hope this helped a little.
