Speedometer stopped working!

Ok guys on my way home doing normal driving....my speedometer suddenly stopped functioning and the dash lights dimmed as well as my headlights. It just feels weird but car seems to be running ok??? not sure...what could this be??? HELP anyone plz.....could it be a fuse???

Your car has a cold...Dump one half of a bottle of Robitusin in the tank, don't drive it for two days (It'll need some rest), and then try it again. It should be fine.

check the fuses, i ahd this problem.. alternator SP sensor fuse was blowing. THis wsa due to a short in a 02 sensor... also the VSS sensor could of gone bad.. but check the fuse, i think its a 15A fuse if it is the alternator Sp sensor then, your car will just be running off the battery.. the alternator wont be able to charge it

Hey thanks for the advice..I checked the fuse..and from the looks of it...it was fine...its a 7.5A I believe? haven't check the VSS yet..if it is.....it woulnd''t explain the car idling less rough and the lights being dimmed. The alternator charges....I've started the engine numerious times and starts up fine and even left the engine running for 30 min and shut off and started again. Last time this happned it was the alt sp sensor fuse..but now...mmmmm..any more ideas?

damn that one stumped me, im agreeing with everybody else tho, it has to be in the wiring or straight form the power source (fuse)... how do u drive without it?? u dont know how slow to go when going through a speed trap.
