SingleCam 240 Issue. Does Ignition Timing Change as Motor Warms Up?
I have a single cam 240 with an odd issue. Just as a note the ignition timing on the car is very iffy (pegged to one side) but before messing with it I was wonder if this sounds like an issue that could be related to timing or it sounds like something else.
The car will idle, run, and drive fairly well on a cold motor. As the car idles and warms up (within 5 minutes), it will still have a strong idle, but will barely rev or move under its own power. You can floor the pedal and the rpms rise EXTREMELY slowly.
Does the ecu change ignition timing a great deal between cold start and normal operating temps where it would cause this much of a change if it is not timed exactly right? Or does this sound like something completely different? Just trying to get some opinions before I make the trip home to try to figure it out.
