Default shifter question.

I have a 99 coupe with an b18b1 swap with an ls tranny, si shift linkage with polyunithane bushings, stock shifter. It feels sloppy, like it has a lot of play in it. My friend with an integra his shifter feels tight and alot better. I didnt think there would be a difference, would using a ls shiftage make a difference or would it even fit in my civic? Thanks in advance.

Believe it or not you got the same shift linkage he does, if you want it to feel tighter i would recommend a short shifter kit. See if that gives you the results you want.

i personally would get a abetter bushing kit for the linkage if i were u then get a short shifter i recommend the B&M shifter i have. http://bmracing.com/index.php?id=pro...cat=15&pid=150 its a very very short shift and will firm up the shift feel too might have to cut the heat shield but its worth it

i understand a short shifter will result in the different feel, but why is it different stock? is it the pattern that the shifter rests in or what?

nope it isnt here is how it goes basically they shorten the top part i.e the part above the ball. then they add length to the bottom which shortens the overall length that the linkage has to move. you can make one yourself with your stock one which if you are a very good welder then go ahead. but over all the shifter i have (the one i showed you) is heavier but well worth it. also the skunk2 weighted knob with help too

just get 94-01 intega short throw with a weighted shift knob and energy suspension shifter bushings. its a good short throw distance with and its solid.

I've got a b&m shifter in my daily driver and I don't care for it. It puts the shifter to far forward, you practically have to bend over to shift. Get one with a bend in the bottom so it angles the shifter back to you, like your stock one has. Skunk2 makes a decent one (http://www.skunk2.com/Merchant2/merc...oduct_Count=16) or I'll sell you my b&m for $60
