well, i'm about to change the rear diff. fluid in the s2k. i've been doing some research, but i want to hear from some s2k owners that have had a certian fluid in thier rear diff. for a while. not sure if a 90w would be good, or if there are any good 'off the shelf' oils i can pick up. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Why dont you call down to a honda dealership and just ask? Im sure all the diff fluids that they put in the poilts and crv's ect. are the same grade / spec.

this is what the tech section on a car specif board is for. I run Amsoil severe duty 75w90 synthetic gear oil in the Z06.

The dealerships don't use the right stuff. Honda recommends 90W yet no dealerships use it. They all use 75W90. This has caused problems in the past, yet nobody has bothered to get the recommended fluid.

Go with the LE607. It's by far the best fluid for the S2000. You can search s2ki if you want, but all you'll find is recommendations for LE607.

how long have you had the le607 in your s2k? i've been considering it.

I don't remember how long I used it, but since I started using it I never put anything else in it. It's sort of a peace of mind thing. After I blew my ring and pinion I wanted to do everything I could to keep from tearing it up again.

You shouldn't really even be thinking of any other fluid. Even if it wasn't as good as it is the 607 is still the only easy to find 90W out there. So that should be enough for you.
