Default S-10 Pick-up Problem.. heater core maybe?

So i'm driving to work yesterday and all of a sudden, smoke starts coming out of my heater vents and my windows get fogged up.

i get home and start doing research and the best i can come up with is that the heater core is gone.

as per my User name, i know 2 things about this truck: jack and shit, so i was hoping someone could give me some pointers on where i can go from here.

how hard is it going to be to replace this heater core? and do i have to remove the entire dash in order to get it done?

any help would be great, thanks.
