rx7 problem think its a wiring issue
 
i have an 88 rx7 and yesterday it wouldnt start cuz of wat i thought was a battery issue cuz the lights dimmed as i tried to start i temporarly fixed that after playing with the battery for a while than this morning the same thing happened so i took the battery to get checked and it was fine than i took the alternator to get checked that was good also i hooked everything back up and it started up but its still acting funny think its wiring but not sure.....any thoughts?

make sure ur belt is not slippin' and make sure u have no vacuum leak dud!!!.. try to to look for the negative part of the battery and make sure that the wire are not burnt or cuts.. and ohh also check ur batt. terminal to make sure is getting grip from the battery,,

iight dude ya its probably battery grip cuz wen i got it checked dude said it might need to be cleaned cuz theres some corrosion on it thnx foo!! its shaad if u didnt know

Seriously, both of you should type so people can read and understand what you're trying to say.


Check for battery terminal corrosion, and check for corrosion (or a loose bolt) where the grounds connect to the chassis and engine block or wherever they attach on your particular car. When you have a known-good battery and you have dimming lights when the engine cranks, there is something that is causing a big restriction to current flow, which usually ends up being corrosion or a cable clamp or cable lug that isn't tightened all the way.

kk thnx fabrik after i cleaned some of the corrosion off its been running great so far thnx
