Re: Roots Style S/C
search for eaton superchargers like the 03'-04' cobras or the 3.8l v-6 from gm

Re: Roots Style S/C
well i was askn bout the Cobalt which is eaton...but i read on the cobalt forums that they run "aftercoolers" not "intercoolers" and then i started wondering how exactly a "x-cooler" would work on a roots style S/C.

They also have a forum where you can do research. I don't know how they would run an aftercooler with a roots, Unless they meant intercooler. Hope this helps. |
Re: Roots Style S/C
aftercooler on the cobalt basically runs water through a passthrough "intercooler" just like the 03-04 cobra

Re: Roots Style S/C
Yeah it's an air to water system, lht builds them for jrsc's

Re: Roots Style S/C
Jaguar has used a air/water IC built into the intake manifold, after the roots..
All of this is very hard to do without really compromising the length of the intake runners though... Ideally you should move the SC away from the engine the same amount that you're losing by putting an intercooler core inline. It's probably not that big of a deal starting with a type of SC that already doesn't have the greatest efficiency, but I still would hate to knowingly chip away engine efficiency. |
