Fan control module... you need one.

Edit: Cant remember exactly how Ford configured this set up... may be a relay that got stuck IF your model has a relay as opposed to the solid state, one-piece fan control module.

I'm not really familiar with Ford products, but generally fan control modules operate off of a temp sensor. If it has its own temp sensor and that temp sensor fails, the same thing can happen. If it shares a temp sensor with something else, like the ECU and/or the dash display, you'd generally know if the temp sensor fails because you'd see it somewhere else also.

So if it isn't the module, it could be the temp sensor.

yea that was what i was thinking also, but in order to prevent my battery from draining i disconect the positive side off the battery , and even when the car is completley cooled down , and i go to reconect the positive terminal , imediatley the fan turns back on AND THE CAR IS COMPLETLEY COOLED , im unsure what to do im thinking og just instaling a switch.

Yeah, that sounds like a fan control module problem. The fan should be controlled by the ignition, so something in the fan control system has failed if the fan is turning on when the battery is re-connected.

True story... if it were mine, I'd go ahead and replace both temp sensors as well. Should be one for the ECM, one for the gauge cluster. While you have the coolant drained, throw a thermostat at it. Dont want to fuck around w/ your cooling system...

Assuming you have the money and love your car, that is...
