i have oil leaking from my vtec solenoid.. i was woundering how hard it is to take off the solenoid and ckean it and check the screens would be? can someone help me ut.. i have a 95civic ex if that helps.. i just really want to clean the screens in the solenoid,, thanks

Steps by step how-to guide:

1. Buy new gasket
2. Google "VTEC solenoid cleaning"
3. Follow instructions in Google results
4. Reinstall with new gasket

I'm not trying to be a dick, but seriously... You obviously haven't even thought about making any effort so far.

a honda dealership told me that on my d16y8 motor the vtec solenoid has two gaskets but everyone is saying there is just one gasket so im confused is there 1 gasket or two?

There might be two separate gaskets instead of a single gasket. The B-series gaskets are like a 3-lobed "8" in shape, so maybe the D-series uses two gaskets to do the same job.
I've never really played with single cam stuff so I've never payed much attention.

getting a use vtec solenoid from a guy i know for 20.00 its coming off the d16ya.. i got a 94 civic ex with a d16y8 in it i knew the guy and his boy got a rack opf parts hje wanted to trade me a 91 hatch swaaaped gsr for my stock 95 civic ex 2 door coupe the sheel of my car is turbo ready i also have holes i nthe dash where the boost gague use to go and go hole drilled for the vtec controller

What's wrong with the one you have? It just needs a new gasket, if even that. The leak might be coming from the cam seals, which a lot of people mistake for a VTEC solenoid leak.
