Default problems with GSR running an S300

Hey guys I am having a problem with a check engine light on my 01 GSR race car. When I was at VIR last month the car was going into a limp mode for some reason. Luckly for me one of my students had his computer with him and he looked at the tune and switched off a few things and the car ran fine the rest of the weekend. Well today I went out to the garage and stated the car and the check engine light comes on after 5 seconds and the RPMs jumps up to 2200. I cut the car off and turn off the batt switch and started the car again. I proceded to try to switch off the batt for a few minuets and try to reset the ecu. After about 8-10 tries I just put the car away and started to search the web.

At this point I'm still looking for ideas. Any help would be great.

Have you retrieved the codes from it yet?

I was told there is a way to do that with a jumper wire. But it didn't seem to work. Will an obd2 reader work?

There is a service check connector that can be jumpered, then the ECU will flash out the codes. An OBD2 reader won't work if it's an OBD1 ECU, no.

If it helps, it's the same service check connector that is jumpered to lock the ECU from changing timing when the timing is adjusted mechanically. Should be a green (or was it blue?) connector around the glove box area.

Examples of connector location: http://www.alflash.com.ua/honda.htm

I'll go and try again. It's the little blue connector by the ecu correct?

Yep, should be. It should still work with an OBD1 ECU and adapter harness, as far as I know. It's been a long time.

Jumpering D4 (on the ECU connector) to ground should do what you need.

Rock and roll!!!!!
It seems is an injector or a injector connection (code 16)

Thanx so much. But what's weird is that I had to completly unplug the ecu to get to work. Hhhhhhhmmmmm

What do you mean you had to unplug the ECU? The ECU needs to be booted up with the jumper in place, so did you unplug the ECU and then plug it back in (with power applied) and it worked?

No I was trying to find the pin out you said and I think this ecu is directly from Hondata with the obd2 to obd1 conversion is on the ecu. I was just about to give up for the night so I pluged it all back up. I had the key still in the ignition and the jumper in the blue plug. So when I turned the kill switch back on the ses light started blinking. One long bling and six short blinks.
