prob with 92 hatch

i gota 92 hatch. i got it thursday and it blew Friday, the next day.

it's got a d16z6 motor (blew up)

I'm trying to get a motor to fit my d16 transmission.

I was wondering what motors will fit my transmission and will fit my car without any problems.

I was going to put a 89 motor in (d15) with single port injection, but the mounts were off and the motor wouldn't fit.

I was wondering if a *2000* honda civic motor (d16y7) i was wondering if it would fit to my 92 d16 transmission and if the mounts were different or if it will work or not.

I also was wondering if a 93 civic d15 will work. advance said the codes to the transmission were the same and the mounts were except for the front left.. Will that work also?

If the y7 works will i have to change my computer or wire harness since it's not vtec and my d16z6 is.

Thanks.. sorry it's so long lol

you can use any d16 or d16 engine made from 1988- 2000 if you want to. some will require more work than others to use though. if its a dpfi engine, you will have to swap over the intake manifold off your engine to make it work. on some, you will have to change the d.s. engine mount bracket to make it work. the y7 and the 93 d15b you mentioned would be your best bets. the d15b will be the least work, but you will need the distributor for it, as the distributor off of your z6 wont bolt up right. with the y7, you would probably want to change the intake manifold to make installation easier, but you will still need a 92-95 d15 distributor due to the bolt partern being different again lol. you could also pull the head off of the engine that blew and have it checked out to see if its still good, and swap it over to any other d15 or d16 bottom end and have yourself a mini me set up, then you wont need a different dizzy.

if you were close to winchester, id say bring it and either the 93 d15 or the y7 to my garage and id change the engine out and take care of any wiring, ect. for $150 (plus the cost of any additional parts needed)

For less headaches, stay with d16z6 from 92-95. if you decide to go with another d series, get the engine harness, ecu, and mounts. Remember, your motor is obd1. anything older is obd0, and newer is obd2. If you go with 96-up, you will also need exaust manifold for the o2 sensor at the collector.

So you bought the car and then proceeded to beat on it so badly that it blew within a day?
