poormans type r problem
i just installed in my 99 civic si is a b18c1 block with type r internals, the head is a b16a2 with kms valve springs and retainers and obx stage 1 cams, it also has aem underdrive pulleys, obx intake manifold, i used a gsr water pump and timing belt. but i have one problem when i take it out of gear or go to down shift the gauge cluster will dim and only a few times it has shut off. so just wondering if anyone has heard anything about this before or had the same problem please let me know

Re: poormans type r problem
it is dimming because of the underdrive pullys. your not getting enough charge. If you sit at idle too long with underdrive pullies your battery wont charge. and also check your grounds.

Re: poormans type r problem
i checked the grounds but the same thing happens, not really sure whats going on. i dont believe the battery is losing charge because i am hardly at idle anytime to and from work, also the battery is a brand new. it idles perfect never any major ups and downs. not to sure about the power of the cams yet because i just got two hundred miles on the motor. trying to keep it below 3500 rpms. well thanks so far for the advice everyone.
