Polishing Intercooler Pipes
I'm wondering if you polish ic pipings, would you have to clear coat or something. When I stripped the paint off my ic pipes, I left it out in the rain for a day and small little rust spots started to form. Which is why I'm concerned what will happen once its in the engine bay. I'm just got done polishing my pipes and applied polish and everthing. If anybody knows, let me know.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: Polishing Intercooler Pipes
So the magnet test proved it is steal. Now I just need to find a good clear coat that won't dull out the pipings and can stand the heat.

Ok, aluminum does NOT rust so regardless of the magnet test, the rust signifies steel. After you polish steel, it is bare seeing as how you sanded/rubbed any coating off of it. You have to clear coat it after polishing or it will rust again.
