Default Plastic in oil pan???

I am in the process of replacing my rod bearings. and what do i find in my oil pan??? Black plastic. and lots of it.. anyone know what it is? I am nervous about putting it back together now....

you sure it's plastic? It might be gasket material....

I found out what it is. it's the timing chain guides... they are made of plastic and they fall apart.. yay!
