Re: P0420 and second 02 sensor
IIRC that is the sensor on the cat. Bank 1
A code P0420 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Leaded fuel was used where unleaded was called for
An oxygen sensor is not reading (functioning) properly
The engine coolant temperature sensor is not working properly
Damaged or leaking exhaust manifold / catalytic converter / exhaust pipe
Retarded spark timing
The oxygen sensors in front and behind the converter are reporting too similar of readings

Re: P0420 and second 02 sensor
Wires run up through the floor from what I remember on those. If you follow the wires up to a rubber body plug stick a screwdriver in and pry it out. On some the connector will just pull out after this. On others u have to go inside the car and under the seat/carpet u will find the connector. If your gettin a 420 code...chances are pretty good your converter is bad. Unless you are gettin a code for the 02sensor also...at which point I would replace the sensor and drive and see if the light comes back. If it does...pull out your wallet. lol. Good luck buddy.
