Default OBDI vs OBDII

whats the advantages and disadvantages of both? im deciding whether i should go jdm 96-98 jdm type r in my 2000 hatch or obd1 94-95 jdm b18c gsr.i heard you get more power with obd1 especially when it comes to tuning.

Get the newer engine, and convert your electronics to OBD1. OBD1 is much more tuner friendly. You can convert your electronics by using a conversion harness. If you have any questions, or need to source a motor let me know.

OBDII- tougher to tune with(aftermarket parts) verse OBDI, but it is a more in depth diagnostic than PBD1 and easily available at most shops when you do have issues.

OBDII- has EECPROM OBDI doesn't, which allows you to tap into the memory and check the code history, also lets you know when, what,how, etc that the pcm has been reflashed, etc.
