Nissan JDM Engine & US Trans
Hey all, Im planning to do an engine swap on my 87 Pulsar from the E16i to the CA18DE(t). All the engines I can find for a decent price happen to be JDM engines. Would a US CA transmission be compatible with the JDM block?
Thanks.
Thanks.

My guess would be yes but I'm not really positive. It if your doing a CA18 swap and using a CA18 tranny it shouldnt really matter which country it was made in; they should all be the same.

He is talking about going from a E16i to a CA18DET...chances are if they match up you have to put the E16i tranny in the CA18 bell housing...that is how it works for CAs, SRs, and KAs.

Re: Nissan JDM Engine & US Trans
Well, the CA18DET is from my understanding a direct bolt up for the Pulsar(I had the same idea for my 88'B12). I would think the tranny from an 88'+ pulsar SE with just the CA18DE should work with it...., I wouldnt see why the tranny would be differnt between the FWD JDM CA18DE(T) or USDM CA18DE, since it was used here also in the US. check on www.nissanforums.com, that should help you out alot. also talk to jjkamikaze , he's on the forum, he could be a big help to you also..
