Nippon Brand Pistons
Is Nippon Racing a respectable brand?
I found a really good deal on some high compression nippon pistons for b series and was just wondering if they are quality or not.
Are they as good/better than OEM Honda?
If anyone knows/has had experience with this brand please post about it
Thanks
EDIT: Just found out that Nippon Racing is owned by OBX Racing
so im assuming those pistons are doo doo
i knew it was too good to be true
Still should i get these? im on a budget build and i can get them for 170 shipped to me

Re: Nippon Brand Pistons
when it comes to your internals try not to be cheap. paying 500 bucks for some pistons is a lot cheaper than fixing your motor later on. be smart with your decision.

Re: Nippon Brand Pistons
i bought some, got an entire fucking engine rebuild kit for 285 bucks on clearance special or whatever, pistons, pins, rings, all gaskets, oil pump, timing belt+tensioner etc...i figure what the hell, if this motor blows up when i boost it, at least ill have a spare block that i can swap in real quick and drive around on until i can build the other block for boost.

Wow.. If he melted a piston, I wouldn't blame the pistons, I'd blame the tuning or something along those lines. Pistons don't just melt on their own, no matter how crappy they are..

Re: Nippon Brand Pistons
then what's the point of including the fact he melted the piston in a thread about how good these pistons are?
A lot of people are using the RS machines pistons. I'm planning on using those. The seem to be a very nice "OEM replacement" piston.
They might be the exact same pistons as Nippon, but I really don't know.
