Default Need Turbo Help!

I just installed an upper intercooler pipe, with the greddy type S bov, on my 1g dsm. As soon as boost hits I get a really loud whining sound. It doesn't run bad, but it doesn't have all the power there. The bov doesn't make any noticable noise when releasing the air. Please help with the whining, power loss and no bov noise. It also seems to be boosting a little bit higher then normal. Can't really tell with the stock gauge though.

Get a decent boost gauge (duh, this should come before any mods) and start looking for leaks in the piping you just messed with.

I just got the car earlier this week, so I haven't gotten the chance to get a decent boost gauge yet. I have a lot in the mail. I am going to check over the whole thing again tomorrow. Could it be a bov problem or does it just sound like a leak?

Most BOV's have adjustable springs, if yours is set too soft, It wil open way too early, causing a boost leak which will lead to a lack of power, possibly cause a noise, and wont blow off because it's already open.

What this guy said, but you should have gotten the gauge first.

If you want to bring it by I can take a look at it, until 5 I will be off Indian River Rd. at I-64. When I get home you can find me near Green Run.
