Need some Del Sol Auto tranny help ASAP
Hey, my friend drives a del sol, he was coming back to VT this weekend - drove his car like 300 miles to get here, as soon as he got into the parking lot the car won't go into gear. It's an auto tranny, 133k miles on the car. I haven't looked at it yet, to me it sounds like a vaccuum leak of some kind. I'm not really good with auto trannies, but I guess if when we go to move his car and there's a pool of tranny oil then we'll know its a hose problem. Can anyone think of anything else it might be?

By not going into gear, do you mean the shifter is "stuck" or while in Drive, nothing happens?

when its in drive, it still doesn't engage.
i still haven't seen it for myself, but he said he just went to move his car and he got it to go but it will only go like 1mph

Has your friend checked the fluid? Any leaks? Does it go and engage in Reverse normally? Manually shifting into 2 or 3, same problem?
Double check that the emer. brake isnt dragging also. During the road trip, probably got some crap in the valve body of the tranny. Get it flushed at a tranny shop, to start with.
