Need audio help
Well I have a 12" Volfenhag powered by a lightning audio amp. I was driving today and the sub just stopped hitting, I thought protection had come on, but the amp was in fact still playing. All the wires are hooked up, so I figured maybe I'd try the other coil, but it sounds like static. You think it could be the wiring on the sub itself?

Re: Need audio help
But a blown one would at least make a little bit of sound, this has hardly any. My other one I know is blown cause it sounds horrible and amp protect comes on constantly. I don't understand how it could blow under such little power? I mean, only one coil was hooked up to a 200W amp.

Re: Need audio help
Dual coil subs are not designed to be used with a single coil, when you do you are (basically) only using half of the coil wich can only handle half of the rated power. Some people get lucky and never blow one but most people don't.
