my subwoofer enclosure is too big!!
Hi,
I just got Q-Logic type 2 sealed box. its interior volume is 1 cu.ft.
I have Rockford T110D4 sub and RF recommends 0.75 cu.ft. for sealed box.
now....can I just ignore 0.25 cu.ft. difference? If not, what's the best way to cut down 0.25 cu.ft?
thanks!

Re: my subwoofer enclosure is too big!!
it should be just fine.. is it 1cubic ft w/ or w/out sub? if its w/out, you might end up @ .75 with the sub//
if it is with sub 1.0ft, & you're worried about it, add a piece of wood inside the box .. but im sure you have nothing to worry about

Re: my subwoofer enclosure is too big!!
I wouldnt even mess with it. It should be fine. I had A set of Xtant subs and they actually gave you a db rating for different size enclosures. It really shouldnt make to much of a difference. Hope that helps you out.

Re: my subwoofer enclosure is too big!!
With a little more than the recommended volume, you'll lose a tiny bit of control ("tightness"), but gain more low end bass response generally. Depending on what type of music you're into, you will likely not notice a difference, but if you do, will probably actually like the slightly larger box a little more. Seriously though, unless you're really pushing the envelope of what the sub can do, I really doubt you will ever notice a difference. I've done experiments (by ear) with different box sizes in the past, and for normal listening small differences in box size are not audible at all. The difference between the recommended 0.75 and the 0.9 that you have is too small to matter. Install the sub and enjoy.
