Default my car won't start!

got a 90' civic hatch with a D15B7 and i can't get it to start. the past 2 days i have rebuilt the distributor, because i was not getting spark, well i have spark now. next, my timing had been jumping, took care of that. since i've done this my car has started once. think it could be the fuel pump or filter, but i'm not sure. i know what to listen for from the pump, but i'm not sure how to test the filter or if you can even test it. any help would be much appreciated. thanks

Shoulda stuck with the Escort.

Are there any sensors associated directly with the distributor? The fuel pump will make a quiet purring noise when you turn the key to the 'run' position before you start the car. Does it turn over normally when you're cranking the engine?

Check your cylinders for compression. I had a problem like that when my car wouldn't start and i wasnt getting a spark. It was my valves they had leaks.
