MR2 5sf t e
alright i'm almost done with my project. 92 MR2 5sf t e. heres a list on all i've done so far for turbo:
Block into machine shop
Piston's refurbished
New crank
Turbo/Manifold
Boost Pipe
Turbo XS RFL blow-off valve
Head into machine shop
High performance cams
ACT Stage 4 clutch
and what i know of that i still need is:
Intercooler
FMU
Injectors
so i'm just tryin to see if theres anything else that i definately need to finish this project for turbo.

are you going to vent your bov to atmosphere? just curious. from what i understand, the turbo xs stuff sucks. just what i've heard, that's all. i would definately use a metal headgasket. and what cams are you using? too much overlap will be bad.

i just hear they are crap. a BOV either vents to atmosphere or is recirculated. if vented to atmosphere, usually you'll need to compensate for a really rich condition at shifts.
btw: what the heck did ya get a new crank for? what did you refurbish on the pistons?

we refurbished everything on the pistons, new rings and all that, we got a new crank because when i spun the bearings, i spun it so bad that the machine shop couldnt refurbish it because it was scratched so deeply.

hmmmmm... don't forget to use Toyota bearings only!!! unless you think you can find or get your hands on a set of Clevite bearings. i wouldn't call re-ringing your pistons a refurb. you'll also want a fresh oil pump.

Be careful in Virginia, because even tho most cops don't care when it comes inspection time, that aftermarket atmospheric BOV will get into trouble. They're not legal.
My friend works at ron rosner mitsubishi as a head mechanic and he owns a 91 supra...that's where i got my info from.
