Default Mini Me swap Questions

The Car is an 89 DX Civic

I didnt plan on doing this swap i just got a d15b2 to get my car back up and running. The motor i bought was fucked up but about a month ago i bought a d16y8 but never used it. Can i put the vtec y8 head on my d15b2 bottom end without hooking up vtec? I plan on hooking it up later but i just need my car for work. Also can i use the dpfi on the y8 head? Same as the vtec i plan on going mpfi in about a month.. I heard i have to use the y8 timing belt and its good to use the y8 head gasket too? online it said ill need an adjustable camshaft gear because with the y8 belt it will be a half tooth off? I know i have to remove the oil jet from between cylinders 2 and 3.
Thanks

matt

not exactly sure i think it is 1 to 2 teeth off i tried to use the d15 belt and it will fit on it but you will never get it i tdc it will always be off for some reason after i tried 3 or 4 times i went out got the y8 belt put it on and it was prefect the first time. so after that i would suggest going out and spend the forty $$$ and not waste the time on the d15 belt it won't work

Im having a dizzy problem with this swap. im getting mixed up with which of four kinds I need. I understand I need a VTEC so that narrows it down to two kinds.
