Default Major power loss

I have a 91' TSi AWD and yesterday was the first day I really opened it up. The problem is, after around 5900 rpm the car has an extreme powerloss. In 2nd and third I can barely get it to 7K. And also, when I launch, the car jumps, bogs, and then creeps up to normal. Whats up with my car?

Why are you taking it up to 7k in the first place? Does it feel like fuel cut, compression, boost?!?! Need more info.. or bring it down to roanoke one day and we'll look at it.

I'll probably end up just bringing it to williamson this weekend. Don't have an aftermarket boost gague, well i do have a blitz dual turbo timer, but the dude before didn't hook it up right so thats a bust, but boost doesn't fall at all.

I say boostleak...

Didn't I read once that DSMs with enlarged DP have problems keeping boost up high and boost-creep?

Well, the bog down when you launch sounds about right.. I don't know why but on these cars without much mods for some reason if you launch over 2500 the whole front end will dive and then spool back up to normal.

I don't think I have ever heard of a larger dp creating boost problems. I do believe that choodle is running the stock dp though (so that would not apply to him). however, I have several friends who went with a 3" dp and have had no boost problems.
