Re: ls/vtec
well the combustion chamber on the gsr is smaller therefore yeilding a higher compression on an ls block than the b16 head would give you. and the gsr cams would be slightly better.

Re: ls/vtec
All motor, or turbocharged?
If all motor, the GSR is the better choice. 41.6 cc combustion chamber versus 42.7 for the B16. Which, incidentally, makes the B16 a better choice for a Turbo, based on compression. Me personally, I'll take the built-in quench pads on the GSR anyday. It will provide good advantages in the anti-knock characteristics of the engine, not to mention the torque curve and powerband differences from the added quench.
Stock port flow is similar between the two, so no major advantages to be gained there.
For low boost or N/A applications, the GSR cams would be better suited, the TypeR even better for N/A, and various aftermarkets even beyond that.
For turbo, high pressures, you'd want the milder B16 cams. They'll prove to spool faster due to increased low-end torque (think truck cam, what's better for towing) and will be safer, although they may not have the peak #'s some of the others will yield. Again, aftermarket being the optimal solution based on your goals.
