lowering spring color question
 
when building suspension does the color of the springs really matter in the stiffness? have searched all over the net and cant seem to find an answer..please help

No. Color doesn't measure stiffness of the spring. Spring rates do

thanks so when buying springs just look for spring rates..gotcha

Has to be the ebay specials.

The only time I think I have ever seen color come into play was with racing (mainly circle track) if i'm not mistaken. Even then you always look at the spring rates.

Color for race springs is usually brand specific, some brands are all the same color and some are color coded for spring rate, but that only works within a specific brand that color codes. Most will mark the rate on the spring instead.

For street cars, each brand or model within that brand will have a different color. So color means nothing unless you're trying to identify a brand by the color.
