You're going to put a huge amount of money into getting that much power to the wheels with a KA24 without a turbo, probably more money than it would take to buy a second 240 and put a SR20 swap into it. It's just not a good engine platform to get a lot of power out of.

IF you must stick with a KA and non-turbo. Then raise your compression quite a bit even then your not going to make good power 250 wheel is stretching it. Throw a wetshot on it if you must make over 250 wheel.

ive seen dyno results with about 160 to the wheels with just bolt ons and exhaust work. so wouldnt a good set of cams, pistons, valves and springs bring out some more in it?
and what if i bore it, and do head work, and an ecu tune?
the reason im pretty much set on a na ka is cause where i work they have a ka race motor that makes 250 to the wheels. and i know its a "race motor" but the have restrictions its not bored and there running it with a 30mm intake.

So they have a 250 WHP KA, so they've already done it, but you apparently haven't asked anyone how. Am I missing something here?

There's a Sunoco in Chesapeake or something that sells 100 octane, I guess you could consider that pump gas.

Building an N/A KA is a waste of time. If you want to break 170 whp, you'll need high compression pistons, ITB's, cams, intake, exhaust, a full stand alone ECU, and a tune at MRD. It's going to cost upwards of $2500 and you'll only get like 30 more horsepower.

On the other hand, you can boost the KA, and with $2500 you can have an extremely reliable 250-300 whp.

Or you can spend that $2500 on a front clip with an SR and have a reliable 225 whp.

Your posts make it seem like you haven't done much research, so the SR swap might be the best option for you. Why don't you want an SR?

ive done alot, i just dont really know what i want, boosted or not. the reason i dont want an sr is because everyone i know around me has one. i know that boosted ka's make some serious power, but im just really tryin to find out if anyone has done a fully built ka and made good numbers.

I made 293 whp and 310 ft/lbs with a totally stock internal'd s14 KA and a rom tune. as well as a t28 at 12 psi.

As long as you don't cheap out on tuning and don't try to run crazy amounts of boost you'll be fine.

If you're serious about it call up Millenium Racing Development, I've seen some pretty nasty KA's come out of that shop.
