What year car is this? Your factory car should have came with a map-sensor.
JDM motors don't have the map sensor mounted on the Throttle Body like USDM cars. Mine is on a bracket that was made and has a vaccum hose coming off of it from the Throttle Body. Then it has the plug that goes into it.
Maybe you hooked the map sensor up, but you don't have a vaccum source going to it.

Woah woah... Use your stock harness man. Your car is prewired for vtec, all you need to do is wire up a Knock Sensor.
Take your stock harness, plug it back up. And drive your car. If you want to, wire up the knock sensor(it's under the intake manifold, above the water metal tube that runs behind the block. Kinda between #2 and #3 cylinders.
Run a wire from D3 on your ecu and run it to the back of your motor, to the knock sensor. I hid mine in the stock loom so it looks stock.
(wait and I'll get a picture)
