Intermittent brake light and turn signal

Make: Audi
Model: A6
Year: 06
Engine/Modifications in relation to the issue: stock v6
Issues/Questions: when shifting from park to reverse/drive, drivers side rear brake light/turn signal and third brake light goes out. Not everytime, sometimes it's just the third brake light, other times it's the drivers brake and or turn signal. Other times they'll all be just fine, and after driving for 15-30 min and stopping at a light, one of the three will go out pressing on the brake.
Failed solutions until now: Put new bulbs in for drivers rear, checked connection to third brake light and checks good.

Do the reverse lights work correctly? Want happens to the brake lights when you stay in reverse, and does any of this behavior change when your parking lights or headlights are on?

You know you need to press the brake to shift out of park, and you know the reverse lights come on when shifted into or past reverse. That's your starting point of things to check.

This is a problem related to a circuit shared between multiple lights, but the lights sound like they still operate correctly on their own which really narrows down the possible causes. You'll likely need a factory manual with schematics to find the common paths, but it shouldn't be too hard to track down.

Re: Intermittent brake light and turn signal

So I pulled the housing out and where the top right bulb is underneath the led strip on top, has melted the plastic under the led strip. So i'm assuming that it's causing the led strip which is the blinker and brake light to overheat after time. As far as the third brake light (led also) I was messing around with it in park and as soon as you press the brake pedal I get the light saying it's out now. Where as before after driving for a lil bit it would go out.

Sorry, yes the reverse lights function perfectly.

That's definitely a wiring problem, unfortunately electricity isn't something that can be inspected visually. Schematics and then flow charts to diagnosing your concern is the best way to go man. Sorry! Good luck
