Intake coatings?
Anybody use intake coatings? I've got a bigger throttle body and intake manifold on the way to me, and I'm thinking about having them done in the pro-gold coating before putting them in (http://www.performance-design.net/pe...n_coatings.htm). Or maybe the Swaintech coating.
Just curious if anybody has any experiences - I know with my exhaust coating I later found out that I should have gone with Swaintech over Jet Hot.

Re: Intake coatings?
Never heard of them.. Also look into HPC, they make good ceramic coatings also. I didn't see anywhere on the Performance Designs page about what kind of application process they use for the thermal barrier coatings, or much useful info at all besides a lot of hype. Hype is fine, but information is better. It looks like a waterborne coating probably, that is being baked afterward..? The fact that they are a parts company and are offering coating services tells me that they are either getting it done out of house, or are using coatings which don't require plasma application (which is expensive and specialized). I like my parts to come from parts companies, and my coatings to come from coatings companies.
For how cheap it is, give it a shot for the intake manifold, etc.. If it's crap, at least you won't have wasted much money.
