Default Insight Swap?

Sounds weird but I was wondering if anyone know what kinda motor could be swaped into a Honda Insight? If you completly strip all the electric motor and batteries, idk I was just thinking it might be pretty light!? Just wondering what you guys thought, and no I don't have an Insight.

Post more pics of that, that's pretty cool. I've always wanted to split one down the middle and widen it, and leave the rear arch covers off.. Kinda like a modern CRX..

I was talking with those guys at NOPI. They say it's impossible to do any sort of swap into an insight unless you tube the front end. The chassis can't handle the power/weight of the motor.

Yes, I agree with that. the insight only had to be made strong enough to support a MAX of 76 h.p. Now back to the topic. the original question was generated because of the lightweight of the insight. Why waste your time with a car that is gonna cost you 10x more to get a hold of when you are just gonna hack it up. When you can get a CRX HF which is actually 30 lbs. lighter and will support much more hp. I'm getting a 2003 Insight next month for a daily driver as I drive 150 miles a day. That's what this car was designed for, I don't think its good for anything else. looking forward to the 70 plus miles per gallon, so I can save money to rebuild B16.

No actually we did not say that it is ompoosible to do anysort of swap into a insight without tubing the front...if you search and find under hood shots of our car the front is still unibodied we did however remove the front rad support only because of front end clearence and the fitmint of the itb's....there is a gentleman in new jersey i believe that is currently building a k-series insight for his daily driver..
